April 2026 Field Work Schedule

The Town of Westford is improving the reliability and efficiency of its water system through the Municipal Asset Mapping Project (MAP). Using GPS and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, the Water Department is accurately locating and mapping water mains, valves, hydrants, and service connections throughout town.

Field work for this phase begins April 6, 2026 and will continue throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

In most cases, work occurs within the public right-of-way. Occasionally, brief access to a small area of private property may be needed.

How long does the work take?

Typically less than 30 minutes per location. There could be situations in which our records are out of date and more time will be needed.

What exactly is being mapped?

Water mains, valves, hydrants, and service connections.

How will I know the crew is legitimate?

Crews wear official Town-issued clothing and identification.
