Transportation
The Westford Council on Aging Transportation Department serves residents of Westford, 55 and older, as well as disabled adults. We are a curb to curb service, picking up riders outside of their homes, and dropping them off outside their destinations. If riders are unable to enter or exit their homes or other buildings independently, they are allowed to bring one person, as an assistant, free of charge.
The transportation office can be reached at 978-399-2322. Medical appointments are our priority but we take residents of Westford shopping, to other appointments, and social and recreational activities. When leaving a message please be sure to leave your name, phone number, date, time and location of your appointment. We will call you back with any questions and to schedule your ride.
Our transportation program also transports disabled individuals of any age (minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian) who have completed the application process through the Lowell Regional Transit Authority (LRTA). Click here for application. If you have any trouble with this application process, please call us at the transportation office to help at 978-399-2322.
We appreciate as much notice as possible so please make sure to call at least 2 business days in advance. For same day cancellations, if the Transportation Department cannot be reached at 978-399-2322 please call the Cameron Senior Center Front Desk at 978-692-5523.
***NOTE***: For Doctors appointments that involve ANESTHESIA, you must bring a responsible party along for your ride. We can not be responsible for people who are experiencing the after effects of anesthesia (including post colonoscopy rides).
How to Schedule a Ride:
When scheduling your ride, please be prepared with your Name, Phone Number, Home Address, the address of your destination, what time you wish to arrive by, and what time you wish to return. All of our rides are scheduled, so please allow ample time for your appointment. After gathering this information you can call the Transportation Office at 978-399-2322 and leave the above details regarding your ride. We call the night before to verify all rides.
Round Trip Service Areas and Donation Fees:

Acton, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Groton and Littleton: $6

At this time, thanks to Governor Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll and the Massachusetts State Legislature, we are operating fare free. This is a Temporary Pilot Program. If you wish to donate, consider donating to the Friends of the Cameron Senior Center.
Transportation Hours:
Monday through Friday: First ride at 8:15 AM, last ride at 3:30 PM. Evening transportation is provided only for Cameron Senior Center sponsored events. Transportation is also available for Town Meeting and Special Town Meeting. Click here to request Town Meeting Transportation.
15 Minute Rule
We ask you to be ready 15 minutes before your scheduled pick up time and understand that we may pick you up 15 minutes after your pick up time.
We are Public Transportation
The Cameron Center Transportation Department is an extension of the Lowell Regional Transit Authority, providing Public Transportation. Due to this nature, we sometimes have to bring people to their appointments well before their desired start time, and we occasionally return later than their desired return time. Thank you for understanding that this helps us to assist as many people in our community as possible.
Inclement Weather
In inclement weather, when the Westford Town Hall is delayed or closed, transportation and activities will also be delayed or canceled. Please call the Cameron Senior Center Front Desk at 978-692-5523 with any questions.
