105 CMR 410.000: Minimum Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation, State Sanitary Code, Chapter II (the “Housing Code”) will go into effect on May 12, 2023. This regulation sets forth minimum standards for housing under the State Sanitary Code, established under M.G.L. c. 111, §127A.
In preparation for the regulatory update, the Community Sanitation Program (CSP) conducted 5 virtual trainings and 6 in-person trainings with local health and other interest groups. We have also revised the following priority guidance and resource documents to assist local health departments. They are available here and posted on our website.
The CSP has also created new, user-friendly, guidance documents related to excess moisture and pest control. These documents are intended to assist Occupants and Owners. The new resource documents listed below will also be available on the CSP website:
The CSP will continue to revise and update additional resource materials and post them on-line. In addition, some of the documents will be posted in multiple languages.
