Long Sought For Pond Treatment 5/28/25
Long Sought For Pond to be treated for nuisance aquatic vegetation on 5/28/25. Do not use the pond water for drinking and cooking until 6/1/25, for boating, fishing and swimming until 5/29/25, for watering of livestock until 5/30/25, and irrigation until 6/3/25. Heart Pond Treatment for Nuisance Algae on 8/1/24
Portions of Heart Pond will be treated with algaecide (copper sulfate) on August 1, 2024.
This treatment is targeting the growth of nuisance aquatic algae.
You may enter the water on August 1, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
The lake shoreline will be posted with printed signs warning of these restrictions in advance of treatment.
This work is being performed for the town of Chelmsford in accordance with a License to Apply Chemicals issued by MA DEP and Orders of Conditions from the Westford and Chelmsford Conservation Commissions.
