Our summer composting events are BACK!  Be more sustainable and reduce Westford's trash cost by composting --- the Recycling Commission is hosting several Composting Open Houses:

Dates: Saturdays, July 23, 30 and August 6, 2022, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Location: Highway Department, 28 North Street, Westford, MA

Volunteer members of the Westford Recycling Commission will show residents how to compost organic material. Composting diverts food wastes from the trash and reduces the high cost of Westford’s trash collection which increased 9% this year. Organic material can represent up to 20% of the weight of our trash, and composting is a powerful tool to reduce Westford's trash costs. Earth Machine backyard composters will be available to Westford residents at the demonstrations for only $25.
