Forge Village Brush Fire
February 2007- Firefighters knocked down a quick moving brush fire in the Forge Village section of town by Forge Pond. The fire spread to about an 80' x 100' area but was quickly contained by Firefighters on the scene. The Department just wants to remind residents that they must apply for a brush burning permit at the Fire Headquarters in Westford Center, 51 Main Street before they can burn any brush. The brush fire season is between Jan 15th and May 1st. Those with permits must call the day they are burning to make sure burning is being allowed that day due to weather conditions.
