Close call for Nabnasset Home
February 2007- An alert neighbor may have saved a Nabnasset home recently, when he spotted his neighbor's porch on fire and promptly called 911. When Firefighters arrived on scene the fire had extended from the porch up the house to the house's sofet and roof. Firefighters soaked it down and checked for further extension. Had the neighbor not noticed the fire, and a quick response from firefighters, it could have been a devastating situation for the homeowners. Homeowners are reminded to properly dispose of fireplace and wood stove ashes in an appropriate container away from the house.
